Visit: Taronga Zoo, Bradleys Head Road, Mosman, New South Wales 2088 Australia

Taronga Zoo is one of Sydney’s top attractions and is loved by locals and tourists alike. Located on the magnificent harbor, just 12 minutes by ferry with views of iconic landmarks this is truly a zoo with a view!

Arrive at the zoo and take the Sky Safari cable car to the top entrance. Fly above the Zoo as it skims the canopy of the Asian rainforest inhabited by Taronga's orangutans and glide across the mysterious riverscape of AGL Amazonia, home to the Zoo's South American animals.

Feel like a VIP as you tour the zoo and learn first-hand about the animals and how a zoo operates. Meet the hand-raised animals and wander the Australian animal walk-through to come face to face with wallabies and kangaroos. Don’t forget your camera as there are great photo opportunities with koalas, kangaroos and other Australian native animals.

After your tour, spend the rest of the day checking out the great activities on offer at the zoo. There are expert talks through out the day, the not to be missed free flying bird show and the ever popular seal show.

How to get to Taronga Zoo:

The easiest way to get to the zoo is by ferry. Not only is it convenient but a great way to see the spectacular Sydney Harbour. Ferries depart from Wharf 4 at Circular Quay every 30 minutes.

Once you have arrived at Taronga Wharf, take the Sky Safari cable car for a ride high over the zoo grounds. over looking Sydney's most famous landmarks and giving you a bird's-eye view over the zoo inhabitants, ending at the top entrance of the zoo. Alternatively, take the zoo's bus shuttle that meets every ferry.

Too many people, exhibits closed or animals not in enclosures. Food and drink lines excessively long and not at all fun for the kids. 4 sandwiches and 4 coffees was $88. Sky lifts only going one way. With COVID still a worry, there was no way of practicing social distancing no matter how hard you tried. Overall a very disappointing day. Spend your money elsewhere if you want an enjoyable and stress free day.

Wonderful tour through the zoo. Learning about the animals of Australia and walking among some of them was a treat. We were able to see up close the Koala bears and feeding the wallaby. Informative and fun.

This was an incredible tour, seeing much more of the zoo than we could have on our own! We had 2 volunteer guides for the two of us. They were both extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional!

We went on a rainy day and found that we were the only two people (max. 8) on the tour with an experienced zookeeper. We got to see many things that the general public would not. All of the animals on our tour were indigenous to the region. We were so close to almost to be able to touch them. We saw kangaroos, koalas, emus, platypus, echidnas (spiny anteaters), ibis, and Australian geese (Magpie goose and Cape Barren goose). . The guide was very informative and taught us many things that would not have known otherwise. Great experience.

I went on this tour for my 45th birthday. Not only did the zoo staff make me feel special, they made this my best birthday ever!! Donna and Alistair were so sweet and funny. The highlight of my day was seeing the koalas up close and feeding and petting the Swamp Wallabies. Don’t miss this tour!!

The volunteers were very nice and knowledgeable. It is definitely worth the extra money since it covers your zoo ticket as well. You’re able to get close to the koalas and I was able to pet a wallaby. Very glad that I booked this tour!

Just myself and 2 children, we were escorted by two most helpful and knowledgeable ladies. We learnt and saw a lot of Australian fauna that we would never have imagined. The pace was perfect, and we got up close to koala, roos, platypus and many many others. Fascinating, easy, friendly - highly recommended!!!
