We had a remarkable time with Fred as our tour guide! My teens, ages 18,16 and15, who are typically unimpressed and hard to please actually paid attention. Our fave was watching the penguins on Phillips Island. For a once in a lifetime trip, you want to be with a guide who is knowledgeable, charming, and can engage everyone in the group. Highly recommended 😊

My husband and I traveled with Oceania Tours & Safaris on three tours. We went on the Great Ocean Tour, the half-day Melbourne City Tour, and the Phillip Island Penguin Parade Tour. Our three guides, Fred, Rob, and Robert were excellent in showing us the sights. Each guide is knowledgeable, intelligent, and personable. We felt very safe and comfortable with their driving in both city and country conditions. We spent an enjoyable two full days in Melbourne. Thank you!!!

Having only one full free day in Melbourne, I wanted my daughter and I to see and experience as much as I could and this trip meet all my expectations and more. We were picked up by Robert who spent the morning driving us around Melbourne and talking about the city and what we were seeing. Loved walking in the park and then over the bridge to Graffiti Alley. He dropped us off for lunch and then was back to pick us up to go to Phillip Island. We stopped at Moonlit Sanctuary on the way. AMAZING. We got to feed mother wallabys with babies in the pouch!!! And saw a mother koala and her baby. And then off to Philip Island and the penguins. It was fun to watch them come in on the tide and then pass right by to go spend the night in their homes.

This is a long overdue review as my daughter and I traveled to Australia several months ago. However, the fact that we still think about and reference our experience with Fred of Oceania Tours prompted me to log in and give him the credit he is due. The Melbourne City and Phillip Island tour was a full-day excursion that also included time spent at a wildlife park and Churchill Island. What a glorious day! First, Fred was the quintessential gentleman, holding doors for us, telling us delightful stories, patiently answering every question, and introducing us to his lovely city of Melbourne, interesting animals, and Australian culture. Second, we never felt rushed throughout the day. In fact, Fred surprised us with unexpected stops which made us feel like we were getting preferential treatment. Yet, if you read other reviews, you'll find that's just Fred. For instance, he made a quick trip into a grocery store to purchase two flavors of Tim Tams for us. He also brought along food for animals we encountered which served to give us some up-close experiences. Last, I almost felt sorry for subsequent tour guides throughout our trip because they were compared to Fred, who had set such a high standard. To this day and forevermore, Fred Garcarczyk will be considered our friend on the other side of the world. I would encourage anyone to travel down under, book with Oceania Tours, and request Fred. You won't regret it.

A wonderful day filled with unexpected sites and experiences! We started with a great city tour with the charming Amy, who gave us a great taste of Melbourne. Highlights included the Queen Victoria Markets and a stop at the awesome MCG (or just The G)! The afternoon was even better, with the amazing, knowledgeable, and charming Fred! With stops at charming Churchill Island (the gardens there are beautiful), a quick view of beautiful Cape Woolamai, and the great Koala Conservation Centre, we were already having an amazing day. Then Fred recommended dinner at small seaside Italian restaurant in Cowes — Isola di Capri...spectacular, authentic food! Then came the highlight of the tour: our visit to Phillip Island to see the Penguin Parade. The penguins are adorable and the staff there is top-notch...and funny, This was one of my favorite days of our entire vacation!
